GCC’s double-wicket competition set for this weekend

Nine clubs will be represented on Saturday when the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) stage its double-wicket competition from 09:30 hours at the GCC ground, Bourda.
There will be eight preliminary games, lasting three overs per innings, after which the teams will battle in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and championship game. The final will be four overs per innings.
The championships team will receive Gy$100,000, a trophy and medallions, while the runner-up will collect Gy$50,000 and the semi-finalists, Gy$25,000. There will also be cash and trophies for the best batsman, fielder, catch and Player-of-the-day. Each team, comprising two players, will be required to pay an entrance fee of Gy$3,000.

Seon Hetmyer and Shimron Hetmyer (Young Warriors); Sewnarine Chattergoon and Jonathon Foo (Albion); Kandasammy Surujnarine and Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai (Albion); Royston Crandon and Clinton Pestano (RHTY&SC); Eon Hooper and Rajiv Ivan (RHTY&SC); E. Baker and R. DeSouza (GNIC), and Saheed Gittens and Wasim Haslim (MYO).
